Dust Removal — run it right here

A user-controlled sine tone between 0 and 550 Hz that shakes lint and pocket fluff out of the speaker grille. Mirrors the Manual Clean mode from the Android app.

Before you start: unplug headphones, point your speaker toward the floor, and set your device volume to a comfortable level. This page runs the same tone the Android app uses, in your browser.

Slide until you feel the strongest grille buzz — usually around 100–180 Hz. Adjust while playing; the tone updates live.

Phone vibration

Finish with a 45-second vibration burst to dislodge stubborn lint. Same Low / Medium / Strong patterns as the app.

What it does

Speaker grilles act like lint traps. Over months, dust and pocket fibers settle into the mesh and damp the sound, making calls feel quiet and music feel flat.

Dust Removal pairs a user-controlled sine tone with a vibration mode. You pick the frequency that visibly shakes the grille, run it for up to three minutes, then optionally finish with vibration to dislodge anything left behind.

Step by step

How to use it

  1. 01

Pick a tone you can feel

Slide the dial between 0 and 550 Hz until you feel the strongest grille buzz — typically around 165 Hz for most phones.

  2. 02

    Run for the full minute

Let the tone play for the full 60-second session. Stop early if you notice the dust has already cleared — you can re-run as many times as needed.

  3. 03

    Finish with vibration

Switch to Vibrate mode at medium or strong intensity for thirty to forty-five seconds to shake stubborn particles loose.

Common questions

About Dust Removal

Will vibration damage my phone?

No. The app uses the same vibration motor that powers haptic feedback. Strong mode is well within the hardware's normal operating range.

How often should I clean dust?

Once a month is enough for most users. Run it more often if you carry the phone in linty pockets or work in dusty environments.

Why does my speaker still sound muffled?

If sound persists after dust removal, run Sound Test to check for hardware issues, or try Water Eject in case humidity is the cause.
