Cleaning Tips

Best practices that keep phone speakers crisp month after month — what to do, what to avoid.

What it does

Ejecta does the heavy lifting, but a few daily habits multiply the results. The most common cause of bad phone audio isn't broken hardware — it's everyday wear, lint, and humidity nobody addresses until the sound is already gone.

These tips combine our app's tools with simple physical care so your speaker stays clear, loud, and accurate for the life of your phone.

Step by step

How to use it

  1. 01

    Dry first, clean second

If your phone was exposed to moisture, run Water Eject before anything else. Wet dust turns into sticky mud that's much harder to remove.

  2. 02

Wipe with a soft brush, not metal

Use a clean soft-bristle brush or a dry toothbrush along the grille. Never insert pins, needles, or paperclips — they tear the mesh.

  3. 03

    Schedule a monthly check

Run Sound Test on the first of every month. Catching grille buildup early means a single Dust Removal pass clears it.

Common questions

About Cleaning Tips

Can I use compressed air on the grille?

Avoid it. The pressure can push debris deeper or damage the speaker membrane. Sound-based cleaning is safer.

Is it okay to clean the grille with isopropyl alcohol?

Use it sparingly, on the outside only, with a barely damp microfiber. Never spray directly into the grille.

How often should I really clean?

Most users are fine with monthly maintenance. Daily heavy phone users (gym, beach, construction) benefit from weekly Dust Removal.
